Why Don’t Doctors Listen To Their Patients With a Mental Health Diagnosis?

This is an excellent question since this experience is all too common. People with mental health diagnoses are not taken seriously, being seen as people with lack of judgment.

The only way around this is to fire your current doctor (as you employ them, paying their bills) and find one that understands that people with mental health diagnoses can and do have physical ailments like anyone else.

Many illnesses can occur that require treatment as physical pain is a symptom of something that needs to be addressed.

That being said, I have had a few clients with migraine headaches due to their emotional boundaries being overrun and a client with terrible abdominal pain that was due to emotional abuse first by her father while very young and later by an abusive boyfriend – these figured out once the physical causes were ruled out with MRIs. It’s called somatized pain as it comes from emotional pain, yet is felt as physical pain.

During my own 14 years of mental health treatment, I had horrible pain from a burst ovarian cyst and a kidney infection (with a 102 fever). These were always taken seriously by my doctors, thank God. This is why one needs to have doctors who are willing to do their jobs, not defer to “it being all in your mind.”

I no longer have any symptoms of mental health issues, thus released my mental health issues through Neuro-linguistic programming back in 2004. One needn’t carry mental health issues for life if one is willing to move on (exceptions are people with psychotic events).

Here’s my own story of healing manic depression(bipolar 2), bronchial asthma and disappearing a non-cancerous brain tumor.

This is one technique I use to both clear my issues and that of my clients:

When you learn how to use your mind in the manner it was created, you can actually regain your health, and thus your life!
