Which Session is the Most Important for Developing Trust with a Therapist? August 21, 2025

This process starts before the sessions even begins if you have a way of assessing if the patient is a good fit for the work you do. I firmly believe in free consultations so that I have a chance to better understand the reason for the hypnosis services, to find out if the client is a person I like and would enjoy working with, to see if the client is invested both in making the time available and the monetary investment in doing the work. In other words, I screen out anyone who is not a good fit for the work I do. The people who choose to work with me are ready to take responsibility for their situation regardless of how many people they could blame, realizing that it is up to them to learn what they need to learn for each situation while learning how to have effective boundaries, and respecting others’ boundaries.

Too often, mental health professionals will take on anyone with a pulse, often creating an unhealthy situation for both themselves and the client/patient. I have found that working in this way I have amazing clients who never argue over making payments (if they are on a payment plan since I sell programs, not sessions), and will do the work even if they are fearful of going to those scary places in their minds, to become healthy moving onto lives they never knew they could have because of the ridiculous notions their therapists told them regarding never being able to heal, always needing to be managed. It is bullshit and I have proved it over 24 years of being in practice as a hypnotist.

Suzanne

Suzanne Kellner-Zinck founded Dawning Visions Hypnosis in 2002, She has become an innovator in the use of hypnotism and neuro-linguistic programming in the areas of obsessive compulsive disorders such as: eating disorders, sexual addiction and substance abuse as well as working with those with anxiety and mood disorders. Her clients have come to work with her from across the United States and as far away as Africa to help them to finally be freed from these emotional issues that once ruled their lives. She is a member of American Holistic Medical Association and the American College for Advancement in Medicine. Prior to founding Dawning Visions Hypnosis, Kellner-Zinck worked within vendor programs for the mentally ill working to help them to live up to their fullest potential. Many of her previous clients were able to move out on their own and find fulfilling work. Kellner-Zinck is a Certified Trainer of Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic programing through Tad James Company, Inc. and a Master Hypnotist and Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming through Advanced Neuro Dynamics. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education and political studies from Curry College.
