What is it like to be in the state of hypnosis? How have you used it in your healing? July 31, 2025

The state of hypnosis is one of being in a very relaxed state. For some people, this is as far as it goes. Others will feel lighter or heavier, and sometimes they feel tingly in their hands and/or feet. Their eyelids will be fluttering, breathing from the abdomen instead of their upper chest, the pulse will slow down, etc.

As for the results one may receive, it is really up to the client’s desire to reach their treatment objectives while working with a hypnotist who has the knowledge to help them heal. It is both an art and a science as I use much of the training I had from nursing school and the vast practical experience I had working with severely mentally ill clients in the conventional world of mental health in the work that I do with my clients.

As for my experience of healing with hypnotism, it is quite wonderful. I learned how to let go of bipolar with the help of my neuro-linguistic programming trainers back in 2004 I let go of the anger I had for my eldest sister through work I did with my hypnosis trainer in 2005, I let go of bronchial asthma, my general practitioner conventional had no idea how to help me. Doctors and mental health providers rarely help chronic conditions had no idea about how to help me. However going through the Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programmer with a brand new hypnotist/neuro-linguistic trainer during the 8-hour intervention we had to do with one another in mid- 2004, I was able to let go. I also disappeared a non-cancerous 2.2 cm brain tumor through visualization after remembering that my original mentor in neuro-linguistic programming had helped his oncology patients do a similar thing during all the years he worked at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston back in 2009.

What I have learned over the years is that chronic conditions are rarely helped by conventional doctors or mental health providers because they do not have the tools and techniques to help their patients understand the underlying causes of their problems. I also know when to reach out to integrative/functional doctors to get the testing done for my clients that I cannot do, but that needs to be done because there are many things I cannot do for my clients that they can.

We need to understand that symptoms that look psychological can be a result of physiological issues and the opposite is also true so it is best to take a holistic approach to the healing of our clients.
