This is your therapist, right? It is your therapist’s job to be able to deal with whatever you need to deal with as long as you do it respectfully. So, no, it is not okay to ‘ghost’ your therapist due to financial reasons. It is much better to be upfront about the financial situation and see what can be worked out between the two of you. I have had several clients over the years who have gone through challenging times paying their bills the same as I have. We are all human, so why don’t you just explain your situation and see what your therapist can do for you? In my case, I offer my clients the option to split the payment in two if necessary or provide them with a different date for when the money can be paid. There has always been a way to make it work for both of us so the client could continue their healing process and I could be paid, even if it took longer to get that done.
