Given the inflation that we are experiencing these days, coupled with the high unemployment rates, it seems that it would be appropriate to give you all a way to manage the stress that these outside conditions can cause. So, today I am going to teach you something that will very easily and quickly get you feeling centered and about as relaxed as you could ever desire to be. I learned this technique by a business coach, Max Simon, the son of David Simon, who is Deepak Chopra’s partner. Max works with people like me, who are in the business of health and and coaching, desiring to move beyond just having a practice. He teaches us how to add products and services to increase our reach and our income doing what we love. I have also engaged in two other trainings with other business coaches whose programs I am doing at the same time. I feel very much as if I were back in school, this time to learn the business of doing business, something that many practitioners such as myself never learn in our professional training. What is so interesting to me especially given that fact that my passion is hypnotism, is that most of the people who teach this sort of content have at least a basic understanding of neuro-linguistic programming and sometimes even suggestive hypnotism as well. Why? Because, they understand that these techniques are transferable to the business of educating, (including coaching, training and mentoring). It is all about communicating with people in the manner in which they best learn. Here is a learning point for some of you who may be at a crossroads in terms of your own career path. Many people are being laid off, worried about being laid off or maybe are fed up with the huge amount of extra work that is falling on their shoulders given fewer employees to get the same amount of work completed. Now may be the time for you to investigate doing something that you feel totally passionate about. I am now offering mentorship programs for those who are at a crossroads in their careers to help them to get in touch with what avenues could work better for them. In some cases my clients come in to learn how to integrate hypnotism and NLP into the work that they are already doing with each mentorship being individually created to meet the client’s specific objectives. Now that you have a better understanding as to why a business coach would be teaching his “tribe” as Max calls those who are in his programs, who to go into an entrance state, here is the technique: Note: Have a tissue near by because you most likely will need it. Get into a reclined comfortable position – hands by your side. Take a nice deep breath in through your nose, and then exhale quickly Take another two breaths in nose and exhale quickly Take in a very deep breath and hold it as long as you can – then slowly exhale and notice how relaxed you become. Tell yourself to unwind your thought and your body by telling it to do so. You can work from your head down to your toes or your toes to your head. Use the direction that works best for you. Notice how your whole body releases all the stress you didn’t even know that you had. If you feel like it, use a mantra repeated over and over to relax your mind even more and then you can easily do a meditation or a self-hypnosis session. The whole process takes a couple of minutes with the centering happening by step 4 where you exhale the last deep breath after hold your breath. Doing this a couple of times a day, and especially when you are feeling a all “wound up” will allow you to relax and feel centered ready to do whatever you need in a calm, peaceful state. This is especially useful for those of us who happen to be of high energy or are more inclined to worry about things. Max uses this technique as an opener to easily allow him to drop into a meditative state, which is the same state as one would use for doing hypnosis, so it could be the induction into the hypnotic state. Adding the “unwinding of the body from one end of the body to the next serves to deepen yourself. From there you can give yourself suggestions always stated in terms of what you want and as if NOW, as in: I am _____ as of today. Please let me know how you feel about this process.
