Why Do Mental Health Providers Avoid Treating Borderline Personality Disordered Patients? April 3, 2025

A person on Quora asked this question a while ago and this is how I answered it:

Yes, indeed! Although I’m not a licensed psychologist, I’ve assisted numerous individuals who’ve exhausted traditional methods without success. You need to find someone who has had direct experience in the field as I have for many years to understand the safety precautions that are necessary because one who is not treated can fall into a deep enough depression to suicide themselves, which is why the licensed folks don’t want unlicensed people working with them. However, in my case, I worked in the field for over 30 years, starting working in conventional psychiatric programs with very severely affected adults – adults who had to quit school while in middle or high school with the severe symptoms of their mental illnesses. Many had 2 or more diagnoses. Unfortunately, in the supportive housing programs that I worked in, many had misdiagnosis from our daily observations of our clients.

Being a Advanced Clinical Hypnotist and Master Practitioner of NLP and Time Line Therapy (R) as well as a Trainer of all of the above, I can tell you that we are utterly uninterested in the diagnoses. What we are interested in is how the individual created their problem, and then we can help them to de-create it. They are the experts in how the created it, so can show us how to de-create it. Of course, there are many tools and techniques that we use in order to make sure that we are using the best one to help each individual client.

In my case, I overlay my knowledge of hypnosis/NLP onto my knowledge of psychiatry and psychology (as well as general health (took a 1 1/2 of nursing school before dropping out) which is what brings my clients the great results they receive. However, they have to sign up for the full program and complete it because it is a process that one has to work through. Because we are working in the amygdala of the brain (the emotional center) instead of the prefrontal cortex, we get rid of all the reasoning, rationalization and judgment that ‘conscious’ therapist are forced to work in, making it all so much more difficult to get the work done.

Dr. Bruce Lipton speaks of how the unconscious mind of kids works to help them learn and can also cause the thoughts and behaviors that the conscious therapists call depression.

You can bring up 183 resources on depression if you go to the magnifying glass to the right on the top menu and put in the word “depression.”
