Why Not Become A “Recovered” Addict Never Thinking Of Abusing Substances Again?

Substance abuse is a huge problem in this country. The Associated Press has reported a 400% increase in those admitted for treatment according the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in December 2010.

Methamphetamine abuse has doubled and marijuana use has gone up by half. More than 6 million Americans have admitted abusing prescription drugs in the month before they were surveyed.

There are many reasons that people get involved with substance abuse. In some cases it happens very innocently as it did with my partner who was prescribed pain killers after an operation. For others, it is begun by having some friend give them some ADD/ADHD medication so they can stay more alert to study, or at least that is the reason given. Even the over 50 set of substance abusers has become a larger problem. All too often these patterns of use increase forming the habitual use leading to the abuse of the substance.

Some people get involved with substance abuse because they have emotions that they find disturbing, the drug becomes the way to stop feeling these emotions. Alcohol abuse and alcoholism usually comes about in this way, with many of those abusing it suffering from depression. These folks feel hopeless, angry or sad most of the time if they go without the alcohol leading to the problem.

People think that just because a drug is a prescription drug that is safer to use than the illicit drugs that under go no regulatory testing or restrictions. This is totally untrue. Prescription medications cause all sorts of side effects some that can lead to death. Understand that 9.8% of the hospital admissions for substance abuse involved pain killers alone. For the over 50’s group, alcohol abuse is the leading cause for admissions with heroin doubling, cocaine nearly quadrupled and prescriptions drugs going up 500%.

Many of the substance abuse programs out there rely on the idea that one will always be “in recovery” having people go to 12-step meetings where they are forever reinforcing the idea into their unconscious mind, the part of the mind that runs us, that they will always be an addict. This happens every time a person gets up and states “Hi, I’m John and I am an addict.” As one continues to think of themselves as an addict they are going to have the thoughts and feelings of an addict including the urges to use the drugs along with the withdrawal symptoms that come with stopping the use of the substance.

The whole notion of never thinking of oneself as not being an addict or about taking drugs is never on the radar. I can tell you though, with the use of hypnosis it is possible to become recovered, never thinking about abusing drugs again, never wanting them, with little to no withdrawal symptoms coming off the substance. This is through the reprogramming of the unconscious mind to become a “recovered addict”.

If escapism from your negative emotions is the reason you fell into substance abuse, hypnotism is the best way to relieve yourself of this problem. Hypnosis gets to the cause of the substance abuse. Using my program we will address the reasons why you abuse the drugs, let go of any emotional ties to it, while changing the behavior and the triggers to it. We will then replace these behaviors with ones that will bring you much more joy and fulfillment.

This is a long term program lasting at least a year to make sure that you are free of substance abuse. So if you are totally committed to dealing with this problem, putting it in the past, please call for information. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Before calling though, look at Donna N.’s testimonial. Here is part of what she had to say:

“At age 39 I was able to get clean because I was admitted to the MGH acute trauma unit with a bleeding ulcer from all the drug use. Even 8 Percocet at a time could not drive out the pain, because as soon as I landed from the high I was even more depressed-go figure my drug of choice was even a downer-I couldn’t do anything right! I did stay clean for nearly 15 years but picked up again about 2 months prior to calling Suzanne. The next day after I came back from the last therapist I saw I said to myself there has to be a better way. I got on the internet and searched for help. Somehow I found Suzanne’s website-Dawning Visions Hypnosis and started to look at and read all the testimonials on it. For the first time in a very long time I felt some hope.

Being a scientist by profession I bought into that-chemical imbalance, hereditary and all. And although there is truth to those theories of biochemical imbalance and hereditary what I didn’t know or realize or understand is the unconscious mind can override all that. It is truly amazing how it all works. How Suzanne spent 4 and 5 hours at a time with me -and always totally gave me her undivided attention. All my previous therapists would take phone calls and after 55 minutes time was up no matter what. With my all my other therapists I could also “get away with not doing the work”, even if I could do what I needed to. With Suzanne doing the work was so much easier because she took the time to “clear” everything that was preventing me from doing so, not to mention she never let up until the things that needed to get accomplished were accomplished.”

If you read the full testimonial it will give you a better idea of what you can achieve with the Dawning Visions Hypnosis, Inc. program. She was w a drug addict for 30 years and in recovery for 15 when she called me to finally never have that monkey on her back any longer since it reared its ugly head yet again. I look forward to hearing from you. Call me at 781-315-1719 for your free half hour consultation to see if this is something that could work in your case.
